What is preservative treated wood?

Preservative treated wood is a high-quality material resistant to termites and fungi. It employs scientific methods to incorporate preservative chemicals into the wood for protection. It is widely used in landscape architecture.

The American AWPP standard is generally adopted. Common types include ACQ, CCA, and ACBS. These typically contain copper sulfate and phthalic anhydride.

What kind of treated wood does Sentong use?

We usually use ACQ and CCA. Our ACQ preservative treated wood archives C4A Grade according to the Standard GB/T 22102-2008. The CCA treated wood meets the Requirement of GB/T 27651-2011 C4.1 retention and penetration of sap wood. The certificates are as below:

Principle

Preservative wood is produced by using a pressurized process. The prepared wood is placed in a pressure tank in which injected with the wood preservative, and then subjected to vacuum pressure, allowing the preservative to penetrate the wood’s inner layers. The preservative is then vacuum-evacuated and dried. Its superior antiseptic properties provide long-lasting protection and extend its useful life. The antiseptic effect of our treated wood can reach more than 10 years.

Can treated wood be used in wooden house construction?

The answer is yes. ACQ is suitable for indoor and outdoor grounded wood preservation, such as wooden houses and floors. CCA is mainly used for outdoor landscaping (such as handrails and benches), but direct contact with skin or soil should be avoided.

Conclusion

Preservative treated wood is widely used, especially in the process of industrialization, where it plays an immeasurable role. The treated wood is now being used for a whole house for protection. If you are interested in building a house with all treated wood, get in touch with us now.
